SGES Title One Reward School Nominee

On October 3, 2012

Congratulations to Saxe Gotha Elementary School!

The South Carolina Department of Education announced that Saxe Gotha Elementary School was one of six South Carolina Title I schools recognized for superior student achievement.

This comes on the heels of their receiving recognition as a Title I Reward School for Progress as a Title I school with the most substantial progress in either in the “all students” group or in identified subgroups from one school year to the next. That recognition was based on letter grade, free/reduced meal count greater than 50 percent and ranking as one of the top 10 percent of qualifying Title I schools demonstrating progress.

The SCDE recognized SGES as a 2012 Title I Reward School for Progress nominee. As a nominee, SGES wins a $5,000 grant and will share their school’s best practices with other Title I schools at the South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators (SCATA) 2012 Fall Conference.
