Lexington 1 is Going Google

On March 3, 2015

Going Google in Lexington 1 Elementary Schools!

We are excited that elementary students will now have access to their student work, calendars, and collaborative tools from anywhere at anytime! Google Apps for Education enables students to create documents, presentations, forms, spreadsheets, and communicate internally with email. Our Google domain provides a safe, secure, and closed digital environment for our students and teachers. Student account information will be provided by the school. Implementation strategies and timelines may vary by school as we prepare for additional student devices in the future.

Purpose:

To provide students with access to current technology applications and tools designed for collaboration with other students and teachers

To give students the ability to work on their documents both in school and at home – anytime and anywhere from any Internet connected device

To help students work collaboratively, engage in peer-editing of documents, and publish for a wider audience within the Lexington 1 School District.

To provide students with digital communication, cloud storage and portfolio opportunities that will follow them throughout their student experience in Lexington 1.
